Get to Know Us: The Backstory of Our Facility Grounds
Originally serving as a crucial railroad depot for the U.S. Navy during World War II, the military logistics hub successfully transitioned into private industrial use during the post-war era. Mead Paper converted the site into a storage and distribution center contributing to the region’s economic development for several decades.
In the early 2000’s the Scott Family owned and operated the facility in the ensuing years working extensively with PPG and Mead Paper. MJM Logistics took ownership in 2023 with extensive expansion, construction, and revitalization while still honoring its historical role.

Jamey L. Popp is a respected entrepreneur and visionary leader from Southern Ohio, widely recognized for his commitment to advancing economic development in the region. He is the founder of multiple successful businesses, most notably MJM Express, LLC, established in October 2004, and MJM Logistics, LLC, founded in April 2009.

Through MJM Logistics, Mr. Popp has significantly expanded his impact on the Southern Ohio economy by providing critical logistical and warehousing services to key industrial partners, including the Kenworth Truck Company, one of the region’s foremost economic engines. While MJM Express has long served as a trusted transportation partner to Kenworth, MJM Logistics, LLC now provides essential warehouse support, further strengthening that strategic relationship and enhancing Kenworth’s supply chain capabilities.

Born and raised in Southern Ohio, Mr. Popp has remained deeply committed to his community. Over the course of the last two decades, he has created hundreds of jobs for area residents—helping local families thrive and strengthening the region’s workforce.

Mr. Popp is a devoted father of two daughters and a man of strong Christian faith. He is widely regarded as a leader of integrity, purpose, and precision. Known for his meticulous attention to detail, high intelligence, and ability to see both the big picture and the fine points, Mr. Popp leads with a genuine desire to make a lasting difference in people’s lives.
